TEHRAN -- Mohammad Daadkan was elected as the new head of Iran's Football Federation (IFF) on Saturday.

In an IFF assembly held in Hekmataneh Hall of Olympic Hotel, Azadi Sports Complex, on January 18, Daadkan winning 32 votes was picked to take the helm of federation for the next four years.

During the elections ceremony headed by Ali Kaffashian, deputy head of the Physical Education Organization in charge of federations' affairs, Hassan Karimi collected 8 votes and Mohammadreza Pahlevan won three votes, IRNA reported.

Following the resignation of former IFF chief Mohsen Safaei-Farahani, Daadkan played the role of an acting president.
